NAMI Talks Speakers Bureau Overview

This recovery-education program is presented by individuals affected by mental illness who share their personal stories and testimonials. The presentations are a practical tool to educate and increase awareness about the true nature of mental illness while also breaking down stigma. Powerful and hopeful, this sharing of recovery stories is appropriate for all audiences from the classroom to the board room.

Customized half-day and full-day presentations are available based on the needs of the agency or organization.

NAMI Talks Speakers Bureau Training

The goal of the NAMI Talks training is to provide further education to our volunteers, allowing an individual to represent NAMI Fox Valley at a resource fair, deliver a 101 presentation, or share their personal story about mental health as it relates to living with a mental illness or being a family member of a person who lives with mental illness.

Through one-on-one training, a volunteer can become more involved in NAMI Fox Valley's outreach programming, helping to break stigma and increase the community's education and awareness around mental health.
