NAMI Fox Valley volunteers help make the organization a valuable community resource.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, volunteer opportunities are limited at this time and new applications have been put on hold. We are grateful for your interest in volunteering and look forward to welcoming new volunteers in the future.

Ending the Silence Presentations

Young Adult Speakers & Lead Presenters

NAMI Ending the Silence is an engaging presentation that helps audiences learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what to do if you or a loved one show symptoms of a mental illness. During Ending the Silence, a lead presenter shares an informative presentation and a young adult with a mental health condition shares their journey of recovery. Training and stipends will be provided.

NAMIWalks events bring together people of all ages and fitness levels to combat stigma, raise funds and promote awareness of mental illness. Volunteers are needed to help run the event. Other pre- and post-event volunteer opportunities include: recruiting sponsors, fundraising, mailings, set-up and tear-down, helping with the silent raffle/auction, and other miscellaneous jobs.

NAMI Talks Speakers Bureau

Attend about 20 hours of training provided by NAMI to do community presentations to organizations, businesses and groups that help break down stigma and enrich audiences' understanding of mental illness. Specific presentations allow volunteers to share their stories of recovery and living well with a mental illness.
