NAMI Fox Valley volunteers help make the organization a valuable community resource.

NAMI Talks Speakers Bureau

Attend about 20 hours of training provided by NAMI to do community presentations to organizations, businesses and groups that help break down stigma and enrich audiences' understanding of mental illness. Specific presentations allow volunteers to share their stories of recovery and living well with a mental illness.

Front Desk Receptionist

This is a position for those who are willing and available to sub in for our agency's regularly scheduled receptionists as needed. Training is provided. Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, taking messages and registering people for programs and classes.

Gardening & Maintenance

Volunteers are needed for spring and fall clean-up and periodic maintenance during summer months; small repairs; and painting projects at our main office and Iris Place Peer Run Respite.

Special Events

Help us plan, organize, promote and execute our special events. This is a great fit for volunteers who are creative and enjoy working with other people.

Strike Out Stigma Bowl-a-Thon

This fall fundraiser raises awareness and funds to support NAMI Fox Valley's programs and services. Volunteers are needed to help run the event. Other pre- and post-event volunteer opportunities include: recruiting sponsors, serving as a team captain, mailings, helping with the silent raffle/auction, and other jobs.
