NAMI Fox Valley volunteers help make the organization a valuable community resource.
NAMI Fox Valley volunteers are an amazing, passionate, and compassionate team who help bring the agency's mission to life. From our volunteer board of directors to volunteer program facilitators and everything in between, those who donate their time and talents to NAMI Fox Valley are at the heart of all we do.
The majority of NAMI Fox Valley's regular, ongoing volunteer opportunities are for individuals with their own lived experience as someone who lives with with mental illness or someone who has a close family member living with mental illness. Volunteers with this lived experience help to facilitate support groups, teach educational programs, and participate in our speakers bureau, among other things. If you identify as someone with lived experience who is interested in sharing your story and using your experience to support others, we would love to talk with you about potential volunteer opportunities.
There are also a limited number of volunteer needs that do not require lived experience. Most significantly, we are always seeking volunteers to help with NAMIWalks Fox Valley, our annual 5K fundraising walk, which takes place in early October. Volunteers are needed to help at the event itself as well as to prepare for the event over the course of the year. Volunteer opportunities also are available for individuals interested in helping with gardening, building maintenance, and for periodic administrative tasks such as mailings.
If you are interested in volunteering with NAMI Fox Valley, please complete the volunteer application and return it via mail or hand delivery (M-TH, 9-4) to NAMI Fox Valley, 211 E. Franklin St. Appleton, WI 54911 or via email to Kayla Timm at firstname.lastname@example.org.
