Kara joined the staff of NAMI Fox Valley in 2014 and serves as a Peer Companion for the Iris Place program. Kara holds a Bachelor degree in linguistics from DePauw University and is a certified peer specialist. Previously, she worked for 14 years as a journalist at a local newspaper. She lives with her husband and daughter in Appleton and enjoys reading, writing, volunteering, and traveling.
