NAMI Fox Valley is excited to hold its first “Strike Out Stigma” Bowl-a-Thon on Saturday, Oct. 5 at The Super Bowl in Appleton to raise awareness about mental illness and raise funds to support the agency’s programs and services.
After seven annual NAMIWalks, we are excited to mix it up this year and offer this new, family-friendly event that builds on the success of our past walks. We are expecting more than 400 bowlers and supporters at the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. We’ve got 48 bowling lanes to fill! We invite you to come bowl with us! Participants can choose among four different two-hour time slots throughout the day: 9 – 11 a.m., 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., and 3:30 – 5 p.m.
We are to working to raise $75,000 to support our programs and services. There is no registration fee for bowlers, and we will be paying for the bowling fees and shoe rentals. We invite you to collect donations from friends, family members, co-workers and business associates. Every bowler who raises $100 will earn a really nice NAMI Fox Valley t-shirt! It’s easy to register online. If you have any questions or would like to put together a team, give us a call – (920) 954-1550.
We’ll also be holding our annual “Baskets of Hope” Silent Auction and Raffle at the event. We’ve received so many nice gifts, goodies, and gift cards from area businesses, NAMI friends and supporters. Our volunteers are assembling all the gifts into beautiful baskets, which we will auction and raffle off as part of our fundraiser. Hope to see you at the Super Bowl!
